Stowaways Holiday Cottage - Whitstable

A recently renovated Victorian Cottage 5 minutes walk to high street, harbour & beach. Perfect for a romantic short break or a family holiday.

'Stowaways' is a newly renovated seaside holiday home which is only a 2 minute walk from Whitstable harbour. Originally built in the late Victorian times this delightful terraced cottage is ideal for a romantic break for 2, yet versatile enough for a small family holiday, it can comfortably sleep five. The cottage is comfortable, tastefully decorated and has been furnished with an eclectic mix of antique and new, all with the subtle hint of the sea. It is virtually open plan with central heating. The two reception rooms have reclaimed pine timber flooring with french doors opening from the dining room to a little patio area, this leads on to the small cottage garden that gets the sun all day. The sitting room has a large sofa and arm chair with plenty of scatter cushions and rugs. Besides the TV for your entertainment, there are board games, jig-saws, books, magazines and even a toy box. The brand new galley kitchen is well equipped, even down to its own oyster knife! It has a gas hob and electric fan oven, fridge, microwave and plenty of storage. The luxury fully tiled bathroom has a bath, separate shower, hand wash basin, toilet, shaver point, heated towel rail and all towels provided (except beach towels.)

Whitstable, famous for its oysters and sunsets, is on the north Kent coast which enjoys views over the Isle of Sheppey and on clear days Southend. This cottage is very centrally situated, with the beach and harbour adjacent and the town centre less than 5 minutes walk away. There is unlimited street parking outside the cottage or several nearby car parks. Eating out is a pleasure on its own in Whitstable. There are many excellent and famous restaurants here, such as the original Wheelers Oyster Bar, The Tudor Tea Rooms (a favourite with the late and great Peter Cushing.) The town also has real ale pubs (Faversham the brewery town is only 6 miles away,) fish and chip shops, take aways of all sorts as well as superb facilities for buying fresh produce, fish and shellfish if you are self catering. All within 2 or 3 minutes walk along nearby Harbour Street, which boasts its own delightful individual shops that are all worth a visit. Try an ice cream cornet from "Sundae Sundae" for the most delectable flavours you can imagine, like raspberry cheesecake or lemon meringue pie. Or visit next door for the newly appointed British cheese shop "The Cheese Box." There are also plenty of quaint, quirky clothes and gift shops here too, owned by some of the original Whitstable characters.

The property has 2 bedrooms which can comfortably sleep 5 adults. One room has a double bed and the other twin beds. There is the availability of an extra bed or cot if required. Both rooms are spacious and modernly decorated and furnished, an ideal haven after a long day of sightseeing.
